What is Super Zinc / a nano zinc oxide feed additive?

Super Zinc is a food-grade concentrate of water-dispersible nano zinc oxide (mean 5.3 nm) and organic zinc salt. Because the zinc oxide is nano-sized and well dispersed (no agglomeration), it delivers highly bioavailable zinc at a low dose, while also providing SGS-tested antibacterial and deodorizing performance. It is used in animal drinking water or feed, and for environment and food-surface applications.

Is nano zinc oxide safe for animals?

The product is food-grade. SGS food-laboratory testing found lead, cadmium and mercury not detected, and it passed EU 241-item testing. It is pH-neutral and used at low dose (10–25 ppm). Zinc is an essential trace element for animals; as with any zinc source, follow recommended inclusion levels and local feed regulations.

How does zinc support antibiotic-free (ABF) farming?

Highly bioavailable zinc supports gut integrity, immune function and growth performance — important when antibiotic growth promoters are removed. In a 38,000-bird broiler field trial, the treated group showed +13% body weight and a production index of 506 vs 454 for the control, with reduced foot-pad dermatitis.

How is it different from zinc sulfate or ordinary zinc oxide?

Ordinary zinc oxide and zinc sulfate have relatively low bioavailability, so much of the zinc is excreted. Super Zinc uses 5.3 nm nano ZnO with proprietary dispersion, giving higher bioavailability at a much lower dose — which also reduces environmental zinc load compared with high-dose pharmacological zinc oxide.

How much do I use and how is it dosed?

Recommended 10–25 ppm, i.e. dilute roughly 2,400–7,200× by volume. It is added to drinking water or feed. For example, around 100 g of concentrate per ton of feed corresponds to ~12 ppm. Exact rates depend on species and goal — we provide a dosing guide with samples.

How does it reduce ammonia and barn odor?

Independent Intertek testing measured 96% ammonia deodorization. Used in housing and the environment, the zinc chemistry binds and reduces odor compounds such as ammonia, helping keep barns and facilities cleaner — non-toxic and gentler than chlorine or ozone.
